Questions people ask before hiring us

Fees, exit terms, access, savings, who does the work and how fast we reply. Straight answers to what teams ask before hiring outside help.

Prices and contracts

What does it cost?

Guard is $700 a month, Watch $1,200 and Operate $2,800. Guard and Watch start with a one-time $1,500 setup; Operate setup is quoted after the server review. The AWS bill check is free, and if we make the cuts we just keep 25% of what we saved you. Everything is on the plans page. We don't hold prices back for a sales call.

Are there fees that aren't on the page?

No. The plan price is the price. Anything outside your plan is quoted in writing before work starts, and nothing is billed that you did not approve first.

Is there a minimum term or an exit fee?

No. Plans are month to month and you can stop at the end of any month. There is no exit fee, and nothing is billed after you leave.

Will we be locked in?

Everything we set up lives in your own accounts: your cloud, your servers, your code repository, your billing. When you leave you keep all of it, plus the documentation of how it runs.

Savings and the bill

Will the savings actually show up on my bill?

That is the only place we measure them. We compare your invoice with your own bill from the three months before we start. If the saving is not on the invoice, there is no fee for it.

Do you guarantee a percentage?

No. Nobody can honestly promise a number before reading your bill. You see a dollar amount per line in the free AWS bill check, and if the invoice does not go down, there is no fee.

Do you count discounts we already have?

No. Discounts you already have are not our savings and we don't bill for them.

How does the 25% fee work?

It applies to what our cuts take off your AWS invoice: cleanup, resizing and long-term discounts alike, measured on the real invoice against your own bill from the three months before we start. Discounts you already have are not counted. Example: the cuts lower your invoice by $2,000 a month, you keep $1,500 and we bill $500. No savings, no fee, and our share ends in any month you stop.

Do I have to move my AWS account or billing to you?

No. We are not a reseller and never become your billing contact. Your account and your payment method stay exactly where they are.

Our credits run out soon. Can you help?

Yes. Credits make it easy to spend without looking. Then they run out. We find what the credits were hiding and fix it before the first full-price invoice. We don't sell or arrange credits. Start with the guide on what to do before credits end.

Access and safety

What can you see with view-only access?

Billing and cost reports, how your servers, databases and network are set up, backup status and security settings. We cannot change anything, open your stored files or database records, or create logins or keys.

How do I remove your access?

Delete the role or tokens you gave us. Our access ends at once, with no penalty and no notice period.

Who makes changes, and how do I approve them?

A senior engineer. Before any change you get a short note: what changes, why, what it saves or protects, and how to undo it. Nothing happens until you say yes, and every action is logged.

Are you certified?

We do not hold SOC 2 or ISO 27001 certification today. Read how we handle access and security for what we do instead, and tell us early if a certification is a hard requirement for you.

Who does the work

Is this done by AI?

Software does the repetitive checking, which is why the bill check is fast and free. A senior engineer reviews every finding before you see it and every change before it happens. No automated tool changes your systems on its own.

Will juniors do the work, or a different person every time?

Changes are made and checked by senior engineers. The same engineer looks after your account, so you don't explain your setup twice.

My developer can do this. Why hire you?

They probably can. The question is whether they will, because this work competes with the roadmap. If you hand the bill check report to your developer and do the fixes in-house, that is a fine outcome.

Speed and time zones

How fast do you reply?

Normal requests get a reply within one business day on every plan. On Watch and Operate, alerts come to us first. The response time for urgent issues on your plan is written into your agreement before you start.

What about time zones?

Our process is written first: change notes, approvals, monthly summaries and the action log are all in writing, so nothing depends on a call at an awkward hour. Planned changes run in a window you choose, usually your quiet hours. We agree the hours we overlap with your team before you start.

Before you start

What happens after the free bill check?

You get the report and a short call if you want one. We ask once whether you want us to make the cuts. If not, you keep the report and we confirm our access is removed. If we cut the bill, the server review that follows is free for clients.

Who should not hire you?

If your bill is small, you want a guaranteed percentage, or you need a large team on call around the clock today, we are probably not the right fit. The full list is on not a fit.
